Hyracer, I though you had an amx intake, I got one about 3 weeks ago, if you don't you should get one before the track opens i went from a 14.85 to 14.65 with that mod. lowell.

Jim (amx) helped me make a turbo to air box pipe last year before he had them on the market. He also turned me on to running a 2" hose from the opening next to the fog light up to the fenderwell hole for the air box. My air box gets nice cold air piped in. Have you removed the two silencers in the air box?

I do have the AMX intake going to the stock air-box with a drop-in K&N filter...no silencers

heres a thought, i have the blitz dsbc spec r, i hid the seloniods under the cowel by the wiper linkage. then drilled two holes that come out by the wga and the compressor fitting, this way you see nothing but two hoses coming out of the cowel. as far as the negative and positive connections, if you drill staight down through the metal under the cowel it comes out behind the dash next to the washer fluid hose, and there are no wires around to worry about chaffing. I put the screen to my controller under the steering wheel so its pretty well hidden.sorry i dont have pics hope you get the idea

Hyracer, Thanks for the great information. I just received my EBC the other day from Greddy ProfecII and I just got it installed by following your instructions but my car is surging with boost spikes [:I]. I am going to mess around with the gain settings but I was wondering if you car did this at first or was it smooth through spool up. I was also wondering if you used the filter on the vacuum line that is supplied.

royarchr,
Welcome to the world of the GReddy Profec

Yes, you need to install the filter. I put mine about 6 inches behind the controller. Make sure you have it installed correctly as it is a one-way valve, if you put it on backwards it won't work.

As far as the surging...did you get your AGP waste gate installed? I backed my WGA adjustment to only 1/2 turn from being slack. Then after driving awhile and getting excessive boost spikes I had to back off my gain settings by 2%. That gives my present boost settings like this:

Lo Boost:
Set Boost 25%
Gain 18%
Set Gain 145 ( in Kpa = 1.00 )

Hi Boost:
Set Boost 45%
Gain 21%
Set Gain 175 ( in Kpa = 1.30 )

You have to remember that no two cars will boost exactly alike (quoted from the SRT4 forums) you may have to adjust your settings a click or two different from my settings. It may require a little experimenting on your part.

Another thing...the higher the boost levels the more PTB (Part Throttle Boosting)you will get during normal driving. So it will be much easier to get PTB in your Hi boost setting than your low boost setting. You may have to change your driving style a little and learn to drive around town and on the highway at no more than half throttle. Save your aggressive driving for WOT, that's where MBC's and EBC's work best.

My AGP WGA will be here on tomorrow, I am adjusting with the stock one at this time. The partial throttle boosting is what I guess bothered me. Is it normal under partial throttle to feel the turbo surging? I also wanted to make sure that the fitting on the compressor was correct. I used the hard plastic vacuum line located closest to the firewall next to where the intake of the compressor is located. If this is all correct then I will keep playing with my gain settings, I think the biggest issue to overcome will be to put my foot all the way down and trust the guage.
