hey all...
I just got my Dual installed on monday...so happy with it... the power is great and the lower RPM's at higher speeds is nice also...just a quick question about the sound when im in park and rev it around 2k rpm's it starts to break up a bit and almost sounds like its backfireing ... this is my first newer kinda car (ford escort :P was first) and wasent sure what the deal was with it...o and when i was at WOT the lag sounded alot louader then normal... and i just paranoid or what... im also runnin BTG intake if that helps... thanks in advance Tector~ |

thats the way it is, all burbly popping like a hot rod.
nothing to worry about just caused by the lowered restriction and larger pipe. personally i like it. not sure what you mean about the lag being louder, the lag is the 1-2 seconds you have to wait for boost to come up wen you punch it at a low rpm.

Sounds like a rev limiter to me. Do you have Stage 1?

I know the sound you are talking about.. it is a nasty sound between shifts.. when you get stage one that sound goes away completely.. The mopar exhaust is in my opinion the best "Real dual exhaust" on the market unless you are going with a 3" design
The pipe is straight with no resonator and goes into the muffler.. The pipe goes into the muffler and comes out two pipes in the back.. so each of the dual exhausts puts out aprox the same exhaust unlike most fake dual exhaust.. But back to your question of the sound.. I love my MOPAR dual exhaust and like I said when you put stage one on that burp between shifts goes away completly.. Tommy told me why one time.. think it is the sound of the waste gate closing? I dont want to put out wrong info.. but it does go away when you put stage one on.. plus man stage one kicks azz.. When we say "Mopar Exhaust" do we mean Borla? They make it for DCM, right?
That's what I've got and I like it.

well I guess on different cars or different mods it might not go away completly.. but on mine it did.. or so low that I would have to consintrate on it to hear.. not anywhere close to how loud and raspy it was before..
