Default Boost gauge install question

I installed my boost gauge tonight. Don't have the light hooked up yet. I think I read in another thread to take the ground wire and attach it to the frame (via the screw at the in-dash fusebox) and that I can tap into the lower dash light wire for power.

Question is do I have to run cable all the way to that lower light or is there a wire at the fusebox I can tap into? And if so which wire?

Thanks for any help. I'm almost there. Well, other that the fact that my gauge tube got damaged while I was routing it and I had to come up with some innovative ways to fix it...

By the way it's a vacuum/boost gauge. What should it read at idle?

Ignore the black wire bolted to frame comment. I think I need to tap into a negative terminal wire.

I must be spaced out or something.

Louis boost should read (0)@ idle the boost will read climb as turbo spools which it doesn't @ idle . Mine doesn't register until I mash the throttle then it goes as high as 14 .

This gauge shows vacuum and boost. Mine shows 20 in hg. vac at idle. It goes down a little lower sometimes if I'm cruising.

When the boost hits it does get up to 11-14 PSI.

Has anyone found a pillar pod that matches the GT interior?

Inferno Red GT, chrome wheels, chrome AMP fuel door, chrome side spears, PT Cruiser 3rd light diffuser, silencers removed from airbox...ain't this car fun?!?!?

I have been asking around about a pillar pod to match the new interior color. I haven't heard anything definite.

I guess you can either get the current production (Autometer 17214 - Dual or 17214 - Triple) in the 2002 colors and order a passenger side 2002 pillar post trim piece, or get someone to paint the Pillar Pod.

I guess Autometer will eventually introduce a matching pod for the 2003 GT (and other models?) colors...

FWIW: Summit Racing offers the pillar pods starting at $49.95, and their gauge prices seem to be competitive..

Don't fear painting the pod, Chrylser has the trim color and it matches. I ordered the autometer pod, painted it, and I am very pleased, it looks stock.

My local Delaership didn't have a part listing on the new paint. Do you have a number that I could give them to order it?

FWIW, the part number on the 2002 Right (passenger side) "A" Pillar cover is: RJ38MF1-AD and the price is $18.68. This is an alternative to painting the '02 pillar pod to match the '03 interior.
