Default Since Stage II is dead, what power mod is best?

I've been holding out for Stage II, but now that TThrift says it's not coming, I want to make the best decision based on experience that lasts (not just "I just put it on and it's GREAT" comments).

If you've had any of these on for a while, please comment!

* Stage I

* PsiFi PowerPaq

* Amx turbo/airbox pipe

* Adam's upper charge pipe

If you have these, please comment on whether the effects are worth the cost and also, do the effects last?

I have Jim's turbo/airbox pipe. When I first put it on, I noticed increased throttle response. I do not know if it has lasted or if I have gotten used to it.

What else, without risking damage to the engine?

You almost got the power of stage 2 as it is! Add a boost controller, manual or electronic, and you will surpass stage 2 levels. You don't need a map clamp since you have a PsiFi PowerPaq. If you use a Boost controller you won't need to upgrade the WGA. Get a MaxxFab or equivelent downpipe, and performance exhaust and you'll really be moving!

I live not far from Jim and I had him put the airbox and upcharge pipes in. I really believe that there is a noticeable difference. I did have problems with the upcharge couplings blowing apart, but my latest cure seems to have resolved this. I cleaned the pipe with alcohol and then applied a ring of double faced tape. The rubber coupling just fits over this and when the clamp is tightened it seems to result in a good seal that so far has stayed put after serveral WOT tests.

Thanks blueblue, I went to that other site and re-read and see what you mean - I misunderstood. I modified my post.

a wga and a boost controller will give you more power than stage II would have given.

Jeff, I did the exhaust, intake and strut bar first, then Adam's UCP, then Stage I. The UCP gave the biggest kick in the pants. SI made everything smooth, particularly the shifts. I did install a battery disconnect so when I fill up I disconnect the ground for a few minutes. This seems to erase some bad learning over the previous 200 mi or so. [8)]

Thought the blow-off valve (other threads in this forum) was just a noise maker and didn't improve performance.
