I don't know if there is a radical difference between the TurboXS and the Hallman manual boost controllers.
The pics of installs show that the TurboXS is installed with the side fitting as the inlet and the bottom fitting as the outlet. The Hallman shows exactly opposite. Both are for the same purpose, and look to be of the same basic design. Turbo XS and Hallman although looking almost identical their way of operating is diferent.
Dalite, You are right, they are installed completly different. The hallman is an old but functional design. The Turbo XS is a modern design. If you ever get to have them both side by side, you will notice that the Hallman looks like if it was built in a basement and the XS in a real factory. the internals of the Hallman are extremly simple. one Ball, one spring one screw with a knob. tighten the screw, the screw compresses the spring, the spring pushes the ball against the pressure creating a lock. But seven second cars use the Hallman ES, so, it should still work. I had a Turbonetics before the Hallman and it would operate turning the knob completly oposite of the hallman... Again, different aproches for the same efect. The important thing is to make sure that you know which one is the inlet. and test it before slaming the accelerator... Ian |

Well, i guess it's my turn to jump in here. First off, i want to thank everyone for sharing their R&D and experiences. Together we all should be able to TWEAK our GT's a bit more and safely. I took about 15 mins to install the HBC with the info learned here. Sure enough, it's a different car. I'm still tweaking but as of now it spikes to 13-14, drops back to 8-10. I have only removed the white air box silencer, K&N drop in and a 2.5" duals. This is a no-brainer for $50. Keep checking out the SRT-4 forums to "KEEP UP WITH THE JONE'S" Those guys are doing some mad modding over there! Thanks again!

Rob - Mich again - I keep reading the threads about the boost controler and plan on getting one. It seem that the gage is harder to install then the controler. Any thoughts and where do we get the gages.

The Hallman looks pretty cool to me. No need for a wrench to adjust, just turn the knob.
From Hallman Web Site: ================================================== ================= Hallman Pro Kit - It's Here! The brand new Hallman Pro Kit contains the newly designed Hallman Pro valve, the new standard by which manual boost controllers will be measured. It is machined of billet aluminum and stainless steel pieces, and incorporates new features not currently available on any other manual boost controller. No lock nut is utilized, and no tools are used to adjust your boost. Simply turn the adjustment knob and it stays put. The adjustment knob cannot be lost or come out of the valve (that means perfect protection from overboosting due to adjustment knob loss - it cannot vibrate loose and come out). The Pro Kit includes the new Hallman Pro valve, 3 feet of vacuum line, mounting bracket, hardware packet, and complete installation instructions. This kit has all the installation hardware that is needed for most all turbo installs. Plus, it comes with a mounting clamp to hold the valve. Available in Red or Black. Click here for more info on this product. Also provided by the manufacturer are a warranty and email tech support.
