If it's really a 2.5" ID then that's the way to go (ATR), I think it will fit in a lowered car, am I right?

I am still not convinced that a larger exhaust is going to give us that much of an improvement without a down pipe and high flow CAT. I think I am just going to wait and see what BTG is working on.[:0] And...... What happened to Exhaust Depot's exhaust for the PT? He took a poll on what we wanted. Anyone know? http://www.atrperformance.com/index.php?cPath=1_6 |

I was told at the Party from MOPAR that stage 2 and probably stage 3 will only need the MOPAR dual system which he said was 2.5"! That would make 3" nice but not needed for performance! Stage 3 gets rid of the cat so a bigger down pipe would be the only restriction. For Stage 2 the cat would be the restriction as I believe the present stock system does not choke the flow from the cat! I would say for any muffler work based on performance go with a big down pipe and get a high flow cat and 3" SS outlet pipe or pipes on a 2.5" cat back system. That should fit on a lowered car and a 3" dual outlet cat back system for sure would need at least the spare tire removed!!

Called ATR today. They said they build the exhaust to fit a stock car and the exhaust may or may not fit a lowered car, you could buy it and send it back if it does not fit as long as it is not used minus shipping and a 15% restocking fee.[:0] Their exhaust is also 2.5" outside diameter. I'll stay away from a company who does not know if their products fit or at least engineer in some allowance for ride height differences, especially when most of us lower this car a maximum of 2". Back to the drawing board.

The Heartthrob system is a 2.5". It's aluminized, not SS. They have single and dual outlets. No drone on the duals[?] One week delivery from JCWhitney. Install took about 2 hours with handtools and ramps in my driveway. [^]
