On a related note, on my Volvo turbo the tube that acutally connected to the turbo output was referred to as the "Meltdown Tube". The heat of the turbo unit would cause this one to melt at the connection and they would only last about a year or less. I was wondering if the rubber that connects to the turbo on our cars is something special or could any rubber coupling work? Have they found a way to keep them cooler these days?

We've been putting PVC sewer pipe intakes on ImpalaSS for years. Paint it with some black crinkle spray paint for a factory appearance.

My wife knew what I was up to in Home Depot. I was just looking though. I haven't taken the plunge yet (sewer pipe pun not intended). Actually all I was looking for at the time was an elbow to replace the stock primary intake muffler.

Heat is the main reason I've been reluctant to add a PVC pipe down to the turbo.
