I have installed my boost and air/fuel gauges, but am having a problem finding a dash light source so that the gauge lights can be controlled like the dash lights. I purchased a circuit tester and probed the wires off the back of the switch in the column, but could't seem to find a wire that reacted with the dimmer control. Anyone have a color code for the wire or a photo of where you found a spot to splice into? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used the Dimm Control Wire that goes to the radio for my gauges, I have an aftermarket radio with a wire harness adapter, so I just spliced off that.
It's the Orange wire on the factory harness to the radio, position 3 on the 22 Pin connector. Matt 2003 GT Cruiser Edited by - Chipmunk on 04/19/2003 23:32:52 |

Thanks for your prompt response. I don't have a manual (Oops!) so I really don't know where to find or gain access to the radio connector. I have dropped the panel down below the column and can see several connectors with tons of wires. I have poked dozens, but still can't seem to find the right one. Do you happen to have a photo of the proper connector, or will I have to pull the dash cover to get to it?
It's been a really long time since I have done this sort of thing. I remember being able to easily contort myself under the dash to gain access to almost anything. Now, at 56 and nearly 240 pounds it ain't so easy anymore! PT-Dave 2003 Cranberry Turbo GT |

Problem solved! It turns out that there is an orange wire going up the pillar right behind the post cover that I removed. It is controlled by the dash light dimmer circuit. I suppose if I had had a manual, I would have figured it our sooner.

RobGT,
Yes, I had to order one from Summit Racing for 89.95 plus handling. The part number is ATM-2244. Here is the link: http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...&part=atm-2244 PT-Dave 2003 Cranberry Turbo GT |
