The other day I noticed that all of the tabs had broken off the stock air box. when I first got the PT there were only 3. I had to take it in to the dealer as I had a PO700 code and was in limp in mode. The parts dept said that a new lower air box was $125.00, but they didn't have one anyway.I made new tabs out of aluminum and riveted them to the box. They will never break again!I was wondering how many of you out there have had those small tabs break off.It seems to be a very poor design. The service manager said that others haven't complained of the tabs breaking. I wonder how often people even look to see if they are broken.

so many aftermarket units come with a new
lower airbox, try the basic unit from pt-tuning. only costs about, 130 bucks, and you get a new filter lower box and more power...... |

Bet you could get a air box from a salvage yard for less than $20.[

As I said I made tabs (actually a brackets, 4 places) out of aluminum that I riveted to the lower air box, and they will never break. As the standard tabs would more than likely break off a new unit as well, I felt my modification would be best.
