I was reading on on of the srt4 site that one of the members put a spring on the wastegate actuator arm this helped to holle the high stock boost levels for a longer period. Now knowing that the spring in our stock WG is very week inside this causes it to start opening with oly 4 PSI. I can see how this would work but would this cause addition turbo lag?

No, turbo lag is not a function of the wastegate. It is more a function of turbo size and intake volume. You better have a good selection of springs and be willing to do a lot of experimentation to use this method of controlling boost. With the wrong spring you could easily blow an engine. Better to do as others here have done and use a bleed valve to control it. Check out the posts on the subject.

Could someone post the size bleed valve needed and also tell me where exactly the wastegate is located?

Do either of you have a boost gauge cause without one you can easily blow your motor? For one thing, I wouldn't do such a ghetto mod as the spring mod. I'd get a real adjustable wastegate. Raising the boost is not just turning it up. You may need supporting mods depending on what you want. I've seen golfball size holes blown in a block from someone making poor choices with boost.

I was just continuing a thread instead of starting a new one... Yes I have a boost gauge that I can hook up.
Can anyone post a link to a diagram of the turbo and wastegate setup? Also, what type of bleeder valve have people been using? I have used a bleeder valve in the past on previous FI cars... Thanks for the help |

So this is the wastegate circled in red correct? Where is the line to put the bleedervalve in? I don't see it or I am blind... What size is the line (or size bleeder do I get?)
