Default What A difference

My car rides like a Indy track car now with the sway bars. I can't believe the difference. If you are considering it, JUST DO IT! You can even see the rear bar from the back, they are red, and match my color as well. Gary[8)]

That is exactly what I have been trying to tell people and I only put on the rear 22mm one with a front strut brace. And it dont hurt the ride any!![8)] In fact with my Yoko Avids directional tires the ride is better than stock.

Which brand of sway bars did you install and did you do the work yourself? Is this a DIY sort of task?

That's what I'm considering - where'd you get the rear bar?

suspension techniques bar with eibach install kit. Bar bought from Mach 1 Car ( http://www.mach1car.com/search.aspx?nav=7&sh=Sway+Bars ) and install kit from Shox.com. Yes if you are handy with hand tools no problem. The link kit is just a bolt into existing holes and tighten and the bar is a bush and tighten situation!

Any opinions on this one? I love the "Dodge PT Cruiser" ... says "includes all mounting hardware"

I did NOT choose the Helwigs because I was looking for a 22mm rear bar thinking that if it induced too much tail wag at speed I could always put on a bigger 27mm front bar. The 19mm is the same size as the MOPAR bar offered and may work fine. It is bigger than the 02 stock bar which I think is only 16mm. From what I can figure from the forums the stock 16mm bar is not quite big enough to do a lot for performance as one guy said he could bend his by hand once it was off his car!! As far as having all the hardware that is why it is not for the 03 and later years. The earlier years had a sway bar and you just reuse the links. 03's only had the window sicker for the rear sway bar and all the holes drilled but no links and of course no bar. The Eibach hardware has been fine and no breakage so I am guessing my time is not up or they fixed the bad batch they were selling. Only time will tell. You can always go to the stealer and order the install parts. Use search and I think you can find two guys that have reported what you need by part numbers. If not I have the info and can email it to you. One comment on the poly bushings if not lubed and kept lubed with silicone grease they do make some noise especially when cold. If color is importand neither Helwig or Suspension Techniques come in colors to match or contrast with your exterior color.

Thanks, SteelBlue. I did the conversion - .75" x 2.54"/cm = 19mm. 3mm is REALLY small - more would depend on what the bar is made of. I was looking for cheaper, because I'm catching flak from the wife for money I'm spending......[:0]
