Visit tirerack.com.
Here are some very nicely priced tires with good feedback from owners... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....y es&place=29 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....yes&place= 21 Check out the feedback on the stock goodyear RS and see for yourself. As they say in Africa, "10,000 flies can't be wrong."

When I was still dealing with the stock PT "badyears", I was able to get one balanced, and installed for $92 from a reputable tire shop in Tampa. Since then I had learned that the "badyears" are so bad with tread separation that I've changed all tires on my wife's Touring edition to Michelin Hydroedge. It's a top-rated tire and still only cost me $115 a tire.
My 04 GT came with Kumho tires on it, so I feel safe for now. not sure what I'll replace them with, but I do know one thing, it won't be Goodyears!!!! SRG |

I bought a pair of Kumho 205/45 Z Range (each at $120) and drove back the 500 miles, i took those because
there was only 1 205/50 available and didn't want to mix brands, anyways when i check the other tires while the car was lifted and my right rear tire got a lump, a new one..plus my front left was almost wasted, so i did put the news at front andbought an used pirelli 205/50 ($60), but in the highway i didn't see a line reduction buoy (those metal spheres mid-buried on the ground) and hit it at 55mph [xx(] 200 miles later when i did stop for refueling i checked the tires and OMG 2 lumps on the front right tire oh wheel... Last friday heading to the office the usual smooth driving changed, the slightest irregularity on the road felt like hell on the backside when i parked the car my left rear tire was flat and almost destoryed [xx(] (and yes was a Stock Goofyear one). So now i need a new tire, my only options are khumo 215/45 for $110 each and BFGoodrich for $220 each. Will it be okay using 215/45 instead 205/50?

Check out the Avon Tech tires - TireRack has them.
They are rated # 1 out of 22 tires by people who bought the tires http://www.ptcruise.com/phpBB2/viewt...highlight=avon And they are inexpensive....[?] Forgot - change cruise to crew in the link to get it to work..

An associate of mine had the exact same problem with her PT Cruiser GT.
She was actually driving the car around with it like that! ![]() I told her to get it replaced immediately. |

The "lump" is usually caused by hitting a curb, road hazard or something that squished the tire against the rim pretty hard. I hit a pothole and bent the rim (barely noticable, but it was bent) and the tire was junk.
