Default Rotors

At 36+K I find front rotors are in need of replacement. Has anyone used Frozen Rotors by Diversified Cryogenics?

I sell cross drilled and slotted rotors for the GT and non-turbo PT's

They are made of a denser material then the stock rotors so they will not fade like the stock rotors.. I drill the cross drills.. then come back with a slightly larger big and dimple the hole.. the do the slotts.. then I come back and de-burr the edges of the cuts.. I then zinc coat them so they are rust resistant.. I have had them on PT's for over a year now and I see them at shows still look brand new..

With the new rotors you will get better stopping.. and cooler rotors.. They also look realy nice..

Email me for more information @
Prototypepower@aol.com

Thanks.. Adam

I've got a pair of the slotted/drilled rotors from PrototypePower and love them. They're coupled with Hawk HP pads and the stopping power is terrific. No light surface rust after washing the car either....sweet!!

Adam is a straight up dude too, you'll be very happy dealing with him.

Brake dust is a function of the pads, not the rotors. The Hawk pads I'm using are not a full ceramic so there is some dust, but nowhere near as bad as the factory bits. I tend to be rather, um, let's say, fastidious about maintaining my cars so the PT never really gets "dirty". I will say this though - keep your wheels nicely waxed and the brake dust will come right off with soap and water. Provided you wash your car more often then every other month!

Here is a very important update about the slotted/drilled rotors from PrototypePower for anyone concerned about performance. Last weekend I took my car to a local road course track day event where I got to hammer it around an honest to goodness road racing circuit. Never in my life have I worked a set of brakes so darn hard, and since my car is a Turbo Lite I have drum brakes in the rear. With Adam's rotors and the Hawk pads I experienced no fade at all during any of my 30 minute sessions. The car stopped straight and true, and very quickly too! Not a lick of problems and I guarantee you will never use them as hard on the street as I did on the track.

tell us more on the track sessions, please.

are you on the "other" site? if so, then I already know, but someone here may want to know.

What else besides the brakes/rotors would you say are required to change? Tires of course.

Suspension?
Engine?

My car has been lowered 1.5" front and 2" rear with Goldline springs, which are fairly stiff, and damped with Tokico blues. I have a Progress rear anti-sway bar installed but left the stock front unit in place. I'm also running lightweight wheels (about 14lbs each in 17x7 size) and BFGoodrich KDW2 tires in 225/45R17. These are surprisingly sticky and grip really well.

The engine is a Stage 1 equipped Turbo Lite with a VAK system hooked to the factory airbox loaded with a K&N filter. I've also installed the new plastic intake, Magnecor ignition wires and Denso Iridium spark plugs. I've done a cutout of not only the weatherstripping at the cowl, but the metal lip it attaches to as well. The opening is fitted with a mesh screen to seal the engine bay from larger debris (leaves, etc) while letting in plenty of cooling air via cowl induction while in motion, while also letting hot air escape when stationary. Have you ever run your car fairly hard and then tried to touch that aluminum intake with your bare hand? Hurts, doesn't it? I can make a pass at the drag strip or lap a road course for 30 minutes, pop the hood, and hold my hand on the intake for as long as I care to and it won't burn the flesh off my palms. If that isn't proof the setup works, I don't know what is.
