Default lowering springs

Has anyone bought the EuroBlueLine lowering springs from BTG? I would like to just lower the back of my 2003 GT and was wondering if they rode reasonably soft. They claim they are progressively wound so that should work out in theory. I'm also going to put Tokicos on at the same time. Can anyone help me out?

I think you'll be fine. How much do you plan to lower? I went 2" on my '02 w/"mystery brand" springs, and 1.5' on my '05 with suspension techniques springs - both rode fine - actually didn't notice except for less lean in corners.

Thumbs up Re: lowering springs

I'd agree. I lowered my '05 GT convert by 2.0" front and 1.75" rear using Bauhaus progressive springs. A real head-turner appearance-wise! Kept the stock struts/shocks, until recently. RF strut started leaking after about 5K miles. Just installed the Tokicos and now have a great handling car. Strongly recommend the Tokico "blues"!!!

Wanted to add that by lowering the front, you do risk scraping the curbs of most parking spaces. However, remember that the car doesn't scrape the curb, the careless driver does! Be careful and you'll love the lowered look plus the handling is great!

Hello,
It looks like you have done alot to the Conv, are the conv already an inch lowered than the stock models.
I have a 2005 Pt conv Touring edition. And I am still thinking of having it lowered with I believe they are IBok springs. They come 1.5 drop in front and 2 in back,
Is this too low?

thanks,
al

I was looking up specs for the 05 GT vert and got to reading a test drive. The reviewer mentioned that the GT was almost 3 inches lower than the regular Cruiser. Have others heard that? Just interested in knowing b/c I hadn't noticed a difference, but then again never have compared them side by side. I don't like the gap in the wheel well or the gangly type handling given the GT's almost 6" ground clearance (that would give regular Cruisers almost 9" which doesn't sound right) but I digress, I am also interested in lowering but feel that the Eibach 2" in the rear may be a bit too much. I was wondering what other springs or setups exist? I keep thinking about the Stage 1 upgrade w/ free BOV but the handling bothers me more than having more power right now.

The height of the roof is lower by about three inches. The ride height is only an inch lower I think...

oops...forgot to mention. I have the Euro Blueline springs at all four corners. Found them on eBay new for $75! You will be pleased with the ride if you do the rears only. Speed bumps take a bit of care in the front but I don't even think about the rear at all. No concerns at all.

I -highly- recommend firmer shocks when putting stiffer springs on a car. The rear end gets squirrelly in rough turns with stiffer springs and stock shocks. The stock shocks can't control the stiffer springs and you get all sorts of jostling and bouncing. The lack of control is disconcerting when you hit a rough section in a circular onramp and the rear end wants to become the front end. Go ahead and do the rear shocks along with the springs. Don't think about it, just do it! I bought KYB GR-2 shocks for the rear.

Thanks for all the replys on my spring question. I value all of your opinions. I'll probably go with the blue lines and the Tokico blues.
