For all of you that have the Pro Line Springs: I have tried to give the OE shocks a chance, but the rears have got me going.
Speed bumps and trenches (Southern California does not use burried sewer line for street runoff) they always seem to bottom out the suspension. I am torn about which shock to get, but will probably order the Koni adjustibles this weekend. What have you done, do you have this problem ? |

Kirby, I am going to try cutting the rear bumpstops about an inch or so to accomodate my H&R's. I am rebounding off of them too much. This happend to me when I lowered my mustang too until I installed a shorter snubber on it.
I would love to have the Koni's but I hate the idea of getting rid of a perfectly good set of stock units at for a while. I will post when I get the stops trimmed.

Thank you for your reply, I have already cut my stops to the Eibach diagram (not quite half), and have no further to go.
My concern is that the spring valves are so weak in the stock shocks that they are already blown out. |

Hey Kirby - I've got the same problem - live in the same area - REALLY sucks if you go out with another couple. I'll let you be my ginea pig on this one - keep us posted on your solution. I think in past discussions, the Koni's went for around 5 bills. KYB's were also discussed as a cheaper but less effective option. A better grade Tokico splits the difference between the two. I don't mind the money as long as it solves the problem - I don't want a harsh ride either. Some are easier than others to adjust - I'll try to find the discussion.
And yes, I followed the instructions and cut my bumpstops too. Tezz[8)]

Hey Kirby-I found the old shock topic I was referring to - but you were in on that one a month and a half ago. ..so I can't tell you anything new there - did Tokico ever release those adjustibles?

I'm a buyer this weekend, may not get them on this weekend though.
DC put the Tikicos on the SRT-4, and the only word I have heard in the shock department is coil overs(over $1,000 per set)...DC also put $200 apiece Michelin Pilot tires on the SRT (not mud and snow rags). The tokicos must be ok, but I don't think the SRT-4 loads the back suspension up like the PT does. |

Are all you guys bottoming out in the rear? I did not trim my bump stops in the rear and have no issues back there. My problem is bottoming out up front w/Progress 2.0" all around. Tire Rack has Koni yellows but the guy could not tell me if they were GT specific. I gave him the OEM part numbers for each model but he never called back.
Now I've lost the OEM part numbers[xx(]

THE setup has to be yours. The only way to absorb the shock in a short throw situation is to go with the most technically sound damper...Koni. I can't get around it no matter how hard I try.
Humor me just a bit and let me know that this does take care of the rear end "bounce" of bottoming out on the rear stops! |

AND we will see them (along with you) at the Install/Dyno!!!
