Does anyone have any info on the newest SRT4 - the Caliber coming in 08?
The ads claim 265 HP - I wonder if this is just the '06 PT GT engine that is 230 HP at the wheels now its just rated at the engine for 265 HP? It does have a Getrag 6 spd tranny which would be nice especially cruising at 70 mph (where legal). Wonder if it will fit in the Cruisers? Do we (GT Turbo) have dual variable valve timing (DVVT) in our SRT4 engines? Here is the website: drivesrt.com Still think our cars are 10 times better looking!

The new Calibler has the 2.4 World Engine. It is not the same engine as in the PT.

The '06 PT GT is not 230 at the wheels. It's at the crank. They didn't lie about the PT, just the Neon '04-'05 SRT-4. They are rated 230 whp and 265 at the crank. Here are the numbers for the Caliber SRT4.
-2.4L DOHC 16V Dual VVT 4-cylinder intercooled/turbocharged World Engine with 280hp @ 6000-6400rpm, 260 lb-ft torque @ 200-5600rpm. -0-60mph = 6.2 seconds -1/4 mile = 14.6 seconds -Top speed = 157mph -The SRT-4 will have a choice of two different rims, the painted ones like on current SRT's, and the chrome ones. Both are 19" 5-spoke like the pictures. -Final colours that are offered are brilliant black, sunburst orange, bright silver and inferno red (So no new colours like we'd hoped for the SRT). -The front passenger seat FOLDS FLAT (we weren't sure of that earlier because of the bolsters). -NO MyGIG. - ***NEW INTERIOR*** Offered in what they call a "new completely dark slate grey". Not bad, more power than the Neon SRT-4, but overall slower than the Neon. A more rounded ride, though. Here's more info. Caliber SRT-4 Discussion - Dodge Caliber Forums

Only thing the new Caliber has that our Cruisers dont is the 6 spd manual trans. I have having reverse right next to 1st gear plus our cars would get low to mid 30's MPG highway if we had a 6th gear.
