Anyone know where to buy Avon Tech M550 tires, besides tirerack.com?

I placed an order for a pair of 17" Avon Tech M550 for my GT from tirerack.com but they're out of stock and they're not sure when they'll be getting a new shipment.

I ordered in Sept. and they told me that they should be in stock in Oct. Now they're delayed until Nov. and who knows if they'll be delayed even more.

I ran a google search and also searched on ebay but couldn't find them. I had no idea these were so hard to get.

Anyone know if they're sold anywhere else?

Are they made by Cooper? Maybe try a shop that has cooper tire items. Can I ask why you chose these tires? I am in the market for some new shoes for my PT. I currently have the Conticontacts. Great in the snow and rain, but they are noisy.

I had the same problem with Tire Rack. After waiting a long time for the MS550s my old tires were starting to get too thin. I decided to cancel the order and I bought a different tire locally.

What really pissed me off was that Tire Rack had gotten the MS550s in stock but at a different warehouse. They never told me that until I was cancelling the order. I could have had them weeks earlier if I knew they were in stock and was willing to pay for the extra shipping from that warehouse. The experience left me quite angry. Each call regarding the status generated a different excuse. In other words, they were simply guessing or deliberately lying to me each time I called.
