OK you guys I want to do the exact opposite of what most of you do.
I bought my 03 GT in Dec and am looking at the possibility of doing a road trip to Idaho where I could well do some serious miles on seriously bad USFS gravel - potholes, washboard, ruts, etc. I have three times in the past lost transmission oil pans on these roads. I am sure most of you are cringing at what I want to do with/to my GT but - hey - it's my GT! Anyway it is seriously ungood to lose a tranny or main oil pan on these roads, they are not well travelled and rescue could be a LONG time coming. Is there a good way to raise a PT by a couple of inches? When I was a kid (dating myself now) they used to raise cars by screwing aluminum (I think) square "screws" (sounds weird, square screws but that is kinda what they were) into springs to raise cars. Are these still around? Are they safe? That is probably my preferred solution, then I could take them out after the trip. Or new springs or air shocks? |

Kevin,
Sounds like an air lift kit would just do the trick. Here's one site with something to look at...there are probably others. Then you could adjust your PT to whatever level you desire. ![]() http://www.autotrucktoys.com/stores/...tGroup_ID=2059

All, Thanks much for the advice! I think GT_Firebreather has the best advice, "take another vehicle", I have a 1994 Buick Century (BORRRING), maybe I will jack it up somehow! KevinM
