Sorry it took so long to update what tires I purchased. I bought Goodyear Eagle RSA 215 45R17. The tires handle very good and the ride is excellent. The tires were $109.24 a piece.

Why RSAs? Expensive and a lot of us have not had good luck with them in weather.. I would just love to hear your reasons behind the purchase.

The size I think is an excellent choice btw..

[QUOTE=I replaced the OEM BadYears with Kumho XPTs on soonercruiser. They do grip really well - but not on ice in Oklahoma. So I switch back to the OEMs during winter (2 months here).
**But, even with my hearing loss, the Kumhos are noisey!
Any suggestions on a quieter replacement?[/QUOTE]

I like my contiextreems so fare I got 35000+ on them and they have a bit more.
They stick good and they go great in the snow!! I live in central Ill.

I'm with you on the Conti's.. I am saving my pennies for a set of those for my N/A since it will see snow and I don't want to have to do this next winter.. I have looked at lot of tires and most of the time the conti's come out on top for what I need and want in an all season tire. And I have driven a PT with them so I know what I am getting.

Yes it was so bad just about everyone needed chains in Seattle/Bellevue, it was disgusting how bad the snow clearance was. I had to chain up to just drive the 1 mile I drive to work and back.

They were also $80 less per tire than the original Goodyears. They hold great in the rain too.

I dig the G009's wish I could replace them with another set, great in the rain good in the dry lasted about 40K with rotations and I drive the wheels off my PT.. Only real thing I noticed about them I didn't like and this could be cause I run heavy steel wheels is that they can feel soft under hard cornering. I think in heart of hearts that is the wheels not the tires. Yes I drive it that hard..

The RSA's were the best priced tires I could find in my area for a PT Cruiser GT. The tires are quite good. in my opinion, the car actually rides and handles better than the original tires. And no problems on wet roads.

Yes and the fact that most GT owners hate them in any conditions other than on sticky dry pavement.

There are many great options for tires for the GT at prices way better than that $100.00+ per tire..

Just sayin TireRack is not a bad place to do a lot of reading.
