There are many great options for tires for the GT at prices way better than that $100.00+ per tire..

Just sayin TireRack is not a bad place to do a lot of reading.
X-2 go to Tire Rack and start reading all the feedback. then make a good choice for next time.

The RS-A's were endured for 29K on my 03GT - Replaced with Conti-Extremes
which were just replaced after 45.5K. This past winter the wear was telling in snowy conditions. Replaced with Yoko520's - seems to be a 10% MPG gain but with just 1k we'll wait and post again this Fall.

Not looking for gas milage gains - don't care need grip the conti's are pretty much at the top of everyone's list that I really do listen to about tires. These would be for my N/A the GT sits snug in the garage in the winter being lowered 2inches and lack of snow plowing you just can't drive lowered when the snow hits here. Just to get my boyfriends car home it was more like rock crawling than driving, needed a spotter to find a trail down some of the main streets around here, that wasn't gonna rip the front bumper off the car or worse.

This thread seems a bit old but just want to agree re: Kumho Ecsta MX.

Good tire, great grip for tight, fast cornering. They hug. Never noticed them to be particularly loud...

10K and laughing, despite track runs.

I am running the Goodyear triple treads on the wife's PT. Handles well in the corners and take off but they area little loud. And since they are a 80,000 mile tire the compound is stiff which makes for a little harsher ride.

Don't worry about the thread being old. Those tires get good reviews all the time by PT owners. And also new tires are being tried by owners and new stuff is coming out, so if we get something that hasn't been run before we can use this thread as a running review of sorts.
