Default More tire problems

My dealer told me he can;t give me any credit on my Yak520 tires with only 20,000 miles, and the outer edge is worn flat as a pan cake, he tells me because the wear is uneven, it is because it was out of alinement, even though he did my alinement when he put the tires on, blames it on a pot hole. so I'm screwed (again) then also tells me they don't make a long wearing tire for the car, because the GT is by design made for a performance tire.............can you guys shed any light on this.......I would love to prove him wrong................G

Well, Yokohama YK520 are a performance tire for the GT and I have warranty from the manufacturer that guarantees 60,000 miles out of those suckers, or your money back....

Tire Details - Discount Tire Co.

I had Kumho Ecsta ASX and they only lasted for like 32,000-35,000 miles. Man those things rode well, but not enough tread life for me.

520 are a hard tire and should have long life.

if theres a manufactures warrenty then the dealer should honer it despite what the tires looks like.

and after all it is there falt.
and isnt that what you bought the warrenty for...

True dat....actually Turbomangt, when you bought those tires, they should have come with the 60,000 mi. warranty, automatically. I didn't pay extra for the manufacturers warranty, it was included in their price.

So, if you can't get replacement tires, you should receive a refund, for the amount of miles that weren't driven using those things....check and make sure that when you bought them, that warranty was included....

Angry Re: More tire problems

I'd put the warranty in front of the tire dealer's face again. Besides, if they did an allignment too, that is their responsibilty recheck when they do your tire rotations!
Otherwise, I'm searchin' for another tire dealer!
