Question what's this ?

The wife said,"I only put gas in it...." The 2005 turbo Pt cruiser I have is irresponsive to excelleration. If the gas pedal is held down to the floor, I get white smoke coming out the rear exhaust, the RPM stop at 4000 and a knocking is heard.

The cruiser basicly drives like a four cylinder, if I don't push the cruiser to respond it works fine. Is this problem, the Turbo or the gas perhaps the transmission? I believe it's the gas, but I hear the turbo song that we all know Oh,,, Sooo,, Wellll,,,,,, The little I do know about the Cruise, could it be a fuse?

Doesn't sound good. Pull the dipstick and look at the oil - is it clear or murky? With the engine cold, open the radiator cap and look at he coolant - clear or murky? I'm guessing head gasket.

Thanks, That was my first thought, but I wasn't sure with all this new technology. I will check it right now.

I'm confused, I have always seen it murky like milk. It can be clear also..?

I can't help remembering my second car recently being filled with diesel, due to a mixup at the service station (supplier). Started okay, ran poorly, white (maybe light blue) smoke out the tailpipe, and knocked. Had to drain the bad fuel out and refill with 'clean gas'. Lucky for me, the oil company picked up the tab. Hope your problem is less serious than this.

huh Should never look like Milk!!!!
New oil should be somewhat transparent/clear.
Used oil will be darker and less transparent or even on its way to looking black. NEVER WHITE!
If your oil is white then you either have antifreeze or water mixed in.
Thats not good and you should not drive your car. It will turn to a sludge and your screwed.
Chances are good that its a headgasket if your oil is milky.
If your burning white smoke out the tailpipes then that usually means your burning oil and rich. And you've probably clogged your O2 sensor so your computer is a little screwed up.
Get it to an automotive shop to find the leak. Sometimes you can hear a blown headgasket sometimes you can't. Check the level of antifreeze, if its low and no puddle under your car then its gotta be going somewhere...and thats into your oil.
You could have also have cracked the block but thats unlikely unless you've upped your turbo boost but that usually results in burning the piston/rings or valves first or cracking the crankshaft.
DON'T DRIVE WITH WHITE OIL!

White smoke is usually an indication of oil probs. U check there?

Oil should never be murky...it should be clear and viscous....if it starts getting dark and murky, it will lose its viscosity and thats not good. Ur engine could burn up...it has to be well oiled.
