Default alignment

i just recently lowered my pt using the eibach pro kit. What i was wondering is if an alignment is 100% necessary. its been three weeks and it doesnt feel out of whack. Should i get one anyways? Second. Is an alignment kit going to be necessary for the 1.5 in. drop.

PTGT,

I, too, would recommend an alignment. It's cheap insurance to keep your tires healthy. An old Neon trick for camber adjustment is to elongate (not too much!) the clevis bolt hole in the strut. This free modification will give you more camber adjustment.

Definitely get an alignment. Tires aren't cheap. For my GT I didn't need a camber kit and for my wife's PT there was a need for the kit on only one side. You may need it or maybe not.

Gotta at least check before you do some real damage to the tires!

Just curious, since we're on the subject, is it necessary to get an alignment after a plus one, two or three increase in rim diameter/wheel size?

ED Lim,
The idea of a correct plus size is as the wheel gets bigger the tire and sidewall get smaller. This should not affect your alingment. As your overall tire/wheel size does not change.

LAF you are correct but I still get alignments after I buy new tires even if I dont change sizes! I think it is a good idea to start a new tire with it balanced and aligned ! With streets being maintained as they are and tires with low aspect ratios I think the front ends take a beating more now than ever before!
