Default new rims

I'm found a set of rims I would like to buy, they are 17", 5x100 bolt pattern, +40 offset. Now from what I understand, the 03 GT is +50 offset.
My question is will these rims work or do I need spacers? Also if I use 10mm spacers am I going to have trouble with the lugs?
