Widest tire on stock turbo wheels

The stock wheels for the turbo is 17x6 can you install 225/45/17 tiese on the rims

I've got 215's and they're tight. TireRack says 225's won't work.

Jody got some fantastic Yokos, but each manifacturer makes a different tire, just like every shoe manifacturer makes their own size 10 shoe. If you go beyond 215 on the stock rim, make the tire shop fit one to the rim without commitment before you buy!

DCX is selling a performance PT seven spoke rim that is 8" wide....YEAAAAA....they recommend at least a 225 on this rim!

Sorry, I have 8" wheels on the brain....the real solution for Stage II type power.

But I have been looking at a lot of rims and I have found nothing that I like in the width of (8+ inches). I guess that I am going to have to go in for a custom order (ouch!) The only rims that I really like are the Eagle 192s that I'm running and they are only made in the 17x7 size and they won't do a custom order. There is a company here in the San Diego area that will make custom size rims, but I'm scared to ask, I barely got the CFO's approval on the swaybars and preapproaval on the Stage 2. But I think that a (17 or 18" )8+ inch rim on the back should look great.
