Koni Strut Question

I understand that the part number for the stock strut on the gt is different than the other pts. Since the koni front strut is an insert that uses part of the stock strut will the koni 8641-1417 sport fit in the gt strut housing?
Has anybody with a gt installed the koni front struts?

Im about to. Which doesnt help. Hoping w/i the next few weeks. Was not aware it used a portion of the stock setup. If my front shock is out Im going to have to replace the stock ones first?!?!?!?!?! [:I][}]

The koni struts are inserts. in order to use them you must disassemble the spring fron the strut assembly. after that you drill a hole in the bottom to first drain the oil then enlarge the hole so the supplied bolt will fit. then you cut the top off the stock strut so you can remove the internals. the koni strut is inserted inside the modified stock strut body and then secured with the bolt through the bottom. there are some other small steps but that's the main parts of the work.
i beleive the gt struts are different than the n/a pt struts so thats why i am wondering if they will fit. basically, is the internal diameter the same on both stock stuts?

i received an email fron Koni about this situation. they are currently checking to see if their struts will fit. they are pretty sure the diameter is the same but there may be a lentgh issue. i will email them again in a few weeks to check on their results.
if anyone out there has already confirmed the Konis fit in the gt stock strut housing let us know.
