I have a set of Hankook Ventus HRII H405 215/45/17 on my eclipse and I love them, also the new Nitto NT NeoGen ZR is one good looking tire

I have my eye on the NeoGen too! There are some really good choices out there if you fit the tire to your climate and driving style!

You guys with 225/45/17 and 215/45/17 are these on the Chrysler rims for the GR 17x6 do you have any problems - all I hear is that they are to wide for the 6 inch rims...

215 should be your max on the O.E. 6" rim, but check the tire, the size is the tire Mfgr's interpretation (some larger, some smaller).

ptgt,

Just got off the phone with Discount Tire. They are suggesting the Falken Ziex 512 (205/50/17) for $103.00 (all-season performance; I know, I know...no such thing). Another choice was the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (205/50/17) for $181.00. The Michelin had a better tire wear rating [400 vs 360 (Falken) vs 260 (OEM Goodyear RS-A)].

My 2 cents,

Scott

ptgt,

The tires that I mentioned are meant as factory replacements (same size, every dimension).

205/50/17:
205 millimeter tread width
the sidewall is 50% as tall as the treadwidth (aspect ratio)
17 means how big the tire opening for the rim is in inches
