Before Springs

After Springs

Front Spring Installed

Front lowered

Rear lowered

It has been 2 weeks since I installed to springs. I am not completely statisfied for a couple reasons but it has nothing to do with the springs. They advertise them as "retaining the stock rake". It seems like the front has settled and the rear has not. The result is that the wheel gap is larger in the rear. I would be happier if the rear was 1 inch lower. Also, the front may be bit too low for my liking because I've scraped when I didn't expect it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

What springs do you have on your car now?

Which rear springs are you going to get?

Thanks. I might follow your lead.

Well....I have the BTG springs now. Fronts tuck VERY nicely. I dont want to go much lower than that. The rears on the other hand, barely look like theyre lowered. I may buy a new spring set of 2" and just switch out the rears. Quite a pain to get my desired ride if you ask me.

The other option would be to take a heat gun to the rear springs While installed to shrink the BTG one. But not only would I worry about the plastic coating on the spring, but its a game of evening out both sides.

There are pics of my ride at www.cardomain.com/id/sakigt and you can see what the BTGs look like right now. This is approx 6 mos after install.

BIG NOTE: I have 18s so the fronts tuck nicely in part because of that, but even evidenced by Steve, it looks very nice with teh stock wheels.

Props on the GT, Steve. Very clean! [:X]

Did you measure before and after? I have the H&R's and thought the same thing but I measured my current height against a stock GT and found that it was lowered the same amount all around. I uses a carpernters square to make sure that I was perpendicular to the ground and measuerd up through the middle of each wheel to the lip of the wheel well.

I like my Eibach's. For road conditions here, anything lower would be asking for chassis damage. The rear drop is nice and with the 17's it tends to fill in nicely. Pain in the ass trying to get a jack in there to jack the car up...

Most likely, the shape of the car's fender is what is making it look too high in teh rear...

I've been mulling over the springs too...

The BTG's are Front 1.75" Rear 1.50" - I noticed they billed them as retaining the original rake but I'd have to agree yours looks like it's dead even to me (rake wise).

The Eibach ProKit is the other I'm eyeing - Front 1.60" Rear 2.00" - If memory serves a couple of the folks here use these and have said it removes the rake completely.

I'd kinda like to keep the rake look which was why I was leaning toward the BTGs but after seeing those pics... now I'm stuck, lol. :/

Edit: So here's the promotional shot of the Eibach's before and after, is it just me or does it look like it's got more of the rake than GTSteve's above?

Lauren,
ow wide are your 18" wheels?
My 17x8 fill the width of the well nicely. With my stock rims on the car looks odd, kinda chicken legged.
