Does anyone who owns a 2003 or 2004 PT with an owner or dealer-installed rear swaybar have a rattle caused by the stock exhaust (hanger behind the muffler) hitting the left rear endlink? Any ideas to fix it (other than removing the rear swaybar)?? This is driving my wife and I nuts [xx(]....
I love the way the car handles now, but I fear railraod tracks, potholes, and my steep driveway [:0] BTW, I have Progress swaybars (front and rear). Thanks, Scott |

Wrap a piece of rubber around the hangar or the endlink, or both.

I had a friend of mine put the car on a lift 3 weeks ago. You can see that the tip of the metal hangar hits the endlink when the exhaust is moved from side-to-side. We wrapped a piece of rubber fuel line on the endlink and zip tied it in place, however, the rattle and thunk is still there when it hits.
Does anyone have a cure? Different endlinks (offset?)? Thanks, Scott

After i lowered my car, i could here a clunking. My source was where the pipe crossed the axle. I thought it was hitting the left watts linkage arm, but actually it was the pipe striking the frame of the car as it passed over the axle. When u lower it, there is a lot more suspension travel.

Try this, Check the links for lose bolts, especially where the upper part of the link attaches to the frame. Check the bolts on the sway bar for tightness and security. Then take a piece of thick foam (to take up the space) between the end of the bump stop and the bump pad. macster
