Default Dealer looked at groan

Went to the dealer today to check on the groan I hear from the front passenger tire. The mechanic could only duplicate the sound once while going over a speed bump. He told me he figured it was the plastic boot on top of the spring. He said because I lowered my GT that there was less travel space for the strut and this is where the groan was probably coming from. Everything else checked out fine. Without the strut bar on it was hard to hear the groan. I put the strut bar back on when I got home. The groan is a bit more evident but since he said there was no problem with the strut or anything there shouldn't be a problem with the strut bar installed. Thinking of taking my GT to where I had the Eibachs installed and let them look at it with the strut bar on.

The dealer couldn't pinpoint what was making the sound. I took my GT to the tire place that installed my Eibach springs. He deduced the groan was coming from the front spring on the right rubbing on one of two studs that go through the wheel well into the engine compartment. The noise was intermittent and hardly noticeable when my strut bar wasn't on. He asked if my strut bar was adjustable and the BTG is not. The strut bar puts even more tension on the struts and pulls the spring even closer to the stud backing and the wheel well so the noise is a lot more noticeable. He says it won't hurt anything and eventually the noise should go away. I never had the problem on the '01 with the Eibachs and strut bar because that strut bar is adjustable and the torque on the struts can be lessened. I don't know why others aren't experiencing this noise. Two places have said that mechanically everything is fine so I guess I'll have to live with that.

I have eibach's, but don't have that sound.
I'd have it checked by the guys that put your springs in. Maybe static loading of the wheel assembly might reproduce it more consistently.

Already took my GT back to who installed the Eibachs. They are the ones who are telling me the right front spring is rubbing the stud backing in the wheel well. Do you have the BTG strut bar installed? The noise started when I installed the BTG strut bar.
