Default My factory 17" GT wheel got damaged. Help.

I hit a big pothole a few days ago. The car started vibrating so I brought the car to the dealer today for service. They told me that the front driver side wheel is bent and that a new one would cost $600!!! That's just nuts!

So I take it that something like that is not covered under the warranty?

I checked ebay and there's a 17" chrome wheel but it doesn't look like it's for a GT, or at least it doesn't look like the factory wheels I have on mine.

Anyone know if these chrome wheels can be fixed?
Where can I buy a replacement wheel for a decent price?

Thanks in advance.

As far as fixing a "bent" wheel goes, IMHO the only way to fix it, is buy a new one.
AFAS the replacment wheels try Eagle 192's 17X7 almost an exact duplicate only better looking.
I got em!

You might want to call Jim Lyons at Trudesign Wheels (303) 422-5090. He is a bent wheel specialist.

WOW! Never knew there was such a thing. It sounds like it is worth a shot.

You can get them fixed...

Call the city. Report the pothole. Then file a claim. VERY IMPORTANT TO FILE COMPLAINT BEFORE CLAIM (past experience ) Sedn back teh estimates and in about 6 months youll get a check for a replacement. Of course you would have spent the money already to fix it but at least eventually youll get it back....

macster: I would have to buy a whole new set, not just one which is what I need. Sorry but I don't have all the money in the world to be doing something like that.

Larry: Trudesign Wheels? I might check them out. I've also heard of wheelcollision.com. Does anyone have any experience with them?

sakgit: Last night I noticed that they filled the pothole. Is it too late to report it?

I went to 3 different local shops who "specialize" in wheels. They all said they wouldn't touch a chrome wheel. They said that they normaly heat up a bent rim to fix it but that you couldn't do that with a chrome wheel. Why is that?

How? Does it melt or something? There's gotta be a way to fix a bent chrome rim, no?
