Default Difference btwn Turbo & Non-Turbo Wheels

I keep seeing "will not fit Turbo models" on ads for popular custom wheels for PT Cruisers like Boyd Coddington's Smoothie II's.

What is the difference in the wheels for Turbo models and the non-tubo PT's? (Other than size; 16" v 17")

The bolt pattern is the same. Is it offset?

The diffence is the offset. The front brake caliper is bigger on the turbo and would interfere with the wheel.

The front wheels are the only ones that won't fit. The tire shop shaved my calipers a bit and now they fit!

No problems so far.

Just to let you know, you could have a Boyd Coddington Smoothie II made to fit the turbo's rotors. I'm waitng to receive my set of custom made 18X8 Smoothies. I have allready received one set, but the offset would not clear the front rotors, so back they went. Last I heard, I have another week or two to wait. I am going nuts waitng!!!!!! [xx(]

Thanks Guys. I did find that Boyd Coddington does make his Smoothie II's for the Turbo, but only in 18" x 8". I was hoping to stick with 17's and just go wider to keep the ride a little bit smoother.
