Default camber alignment kit needed for front ???

I just got Eibach pro-kit springs from PianT. For members with pro-kit or similar drop (1.6" front and 2" back) springs. How many of you have no issues with front alignment at the shop ( does back need alignment as well???) and no uneven front tire wear without using front alignment kit.

Not sure if 1.6" drop requires camber kit.

Thanks,

Didn't need a camber kit for either PT with Eibachs. I've heard some do and some don't. Did get a front end alignment on both PT's.

Thanks Mean Green,

Thats all the info I need. Once I install springs, I will take the car into the shop without camber kit.

It depends. While the camber will still be within specs, if you really want it dead on, might as well install the camber kit/bolt while everything is apart. The cost starts at anywhere from $10 on up, $10 at ptcruisermart, $20 for OBX, $25-$30 for Eibach's camber kit, $27 at the Chrysler dealer, $50 for Goldline's kit, and $129 for Progress f/r camber kit. I've seen Ingalls list two camber bolts for the PT, +/-1° and +/-2°: http://www.ingallseng.com/cars/chrysler.html .

Like Sci-Fi said. The Ingalls P# for the PT is the same as a Civic, so they are available EVERYWHERE.

Ingalls part # 3542PR (14mm FastCam Strut camber adjuster)
Also goes by SPC #81260
Simply replaces one strut bolt per side . . . easy driveway job.

link below for install instructions
http://www.specprod.com/PROD_DIR/C_P...t&cm d2=81260

I also have Eibachs, and installed the bolts up front for correct alignment. Make sure you tell the alignment shop tech that you have adjustable bolts up front, otherwise the tech simply inputs into their Hunter machine that you have a PT, and machine spits out that camber is not adjustable.

Rear requires shims to adjust, not bolts.

I used the mopar kit which is just a smaller/non knurled diameter bolt used to replace the upper knurled stock bolt. You could slot the upper bolt hole on the strut. I did not necessarily have to use the kit but my specs were off from side to side stock and I only used it on the right side to match the left. I would recommend you using the kit to give yourself at least -.5 degree camber. I set mine at -.8 deg. You may even have this after you lower your cruiser.
You will reduce the wear on the out side edge of the tire(very common) and the tire will remain more flat when cornering. Anything more than -1.0 and not an aggressive driver and you will start to wear the inside edge.
Factory spec is .4 to -.4
What is scary is that you could have .4 on the right and -.4 on the left and be "in spec" which would be a cross camber of .8 degrees, not good. Make sure the tech matches it side to side as close as possible!
Good Luck!
