Default Turbo lite brakes

I have an 05 non GT turbo convertible. I have only had the car a couple of months and didnt realize there were different turbo models. I have front discs and rear drum brakes, no ABS, 120 MPH speedo and use regular fuel so I guess its a "turbo lite". I wanted to do the front brakes and ordered pads and rotors from Rockauto using the parts locator for an 05 PT turbo and got the wrong rotors (too thick). The calipers are not stamped "turbo" so I assume that I need to get rotors and pads for a n/a model, is that correct? Since I have the lite version am I going to run into this problem when ordering other parts?

If you have a non GT convertible, then you DO NOT have a turbo engine. Get the parts for an N/A engine car.

Question Re: Turbo lite brakes

Going to jump on this thread... I have an 04 "Turbo Lite" (Touring Edition) and one of these days it's going to need brake maintenance.

I seem to recall there was some strange variation for brake parts on Turbo lite... can anyone confirm the proper designation for ordering parts?

I mean, 04 "GT" or 04 "Turbo" brake parts should fit equally well?? ( or is there some "gotcha"... )

According to some application charts, the 2005 GT and turbo lite will use the same rotor. However, others show a 23 mm thickness for the turbo lite rather than a 28 mm thickness like on the GT. Mopar part number for the 23 mm variety may be 4509994AD.

If me, I'd call the local Chrysler dealership parts department and give them my VIN. I'd ask them the part number for the front calipers, pads and rotors. Then I'd use those Mopar numbers on RockAuto to get the right parts. All 1st Gen turbo lites were not created equally since some were Touring models and some were Limited models. When there's different options and the application books don't agree, this is one of the the safest way to get the right stuff.

Yes, they made a whole boat load of PT convertibles with the turbo option in 2005. Most were not GT's. The eighth digit of your VIN tells the story.

No big. I just know this because I was in the market for a PT convertible for about a year. Lots of 2005 turbo lite verts out there. Here's a couple:

If you use your ser# you should get the correct parts. But lites don't have the turbo GT calipers. Should be the same as non turbos.
