Got news that my SSR's should come on the 7/23 or 7/26. I should have them available to test on the track too (7/31) .

I'll tell you, if they look as good as I think they will I am going to have to get a set! I wish I would not have got a equity line of credit, this card is burning a hole in my pocket and it is testing my will power. PT mods or carpet, tile and such? [xx(]

Got my new 225/45/17 ZR Michelin Pilot XGTZ4 and SSR Competitions on. So far the 1st and 2nd gear pull seems pretty much peppier. I'll have pics and track times comming soon.....

Btw, I did notice wheel weights around my rims [V]. Guess I have to suffer with those a little bit for now.

Does anyone know if I have any problems with rims with these specs:
17x7.5 5x100mm 63.3mm (center bore) +40mm (offset) 5.82" (back side - what is it?)
The seller tells me that they'll fit PT GT, but what do you think? What is the center bore of a PT? Will I need any centering rings?
The offset is highish, I think. Will the inside of the whell interfere with anything?

The offset and bolt pattern match what several others have installed on their GT's. As far as "guaranteeing" that it will fit, I am not sure you can unless the seller will agree to take them back if they don't clear the brakes. I don't think you will have any problem with them clearing the wheel wells unless you go crazy with tire size.

So, the question now is, how much did they actually weigh? Is there still a packing slip? that is not really as important as

how much do the stock wheels and tires weigh? I have heard/read that they should be a porky 26lbs, but you say 20. I guess you won't really know as you have tires on them too.

What are you going to do with the GT wheels? Are they the chrome ones?

I wish I had the dough for SSRs. Nice!

Unfortunately, I had my rims and tires installed at the store and didn't have a scale with me to get the actual weight. The 1/4 mile track time ET and 60' will give me an idea if the SSR Competitions (17x7.5) & Michellin Pilots did any improvement over my Stock rims (17x6)and Badyears.

I'll be hiting the tracks this Saturday (7/31) and testing out the shoes and Adam's UCP/Inlet pipes. The pipes will be installed after I get 1 or 2 runs with just with the new shoes alone.

I haven't jumped on my scale yet with the OEM Rims with the Badyears. I'll do that after track day.

My OEM wheels are chrome and I plan to keep them as back-up wheels. I honestly, like the looks of my OEM rims as it seems to fit with the xenon body kit and tends to be tucked into the wheel wells alot better than my SSRs. The SSRs don't seem to match with the theme of my car, but maybe some lowering springs will help it out a little.

So at this point, I expect the SSRs to perform well on the 1/4 mile. The car feels a bit faster on 1st through 3rd gears, but the track will dictate that. At least the handling is noticably improved.

PTGT_Boy,
Do you have any pic's of the wheels on your GT? You say they don't tuck under like the stock and they won't because they are wider. How much clearance do you have from the strut housing to the tire and how far from the wheel lip is the tire?
Thanks

I'm getting my car lowered by 1" this Saturday before I start snapping pics. Now looking for my digital camera (its floating around my house somewhere....), is another ordeal. Actually, I better start looking for that camera fast before I get the car lowered lol.

The SSR competitions do stay within the wells, but not by much (the stock OEM rims tuck in alot better). The xenon body kit kinda helps the appearance. At certain angles, the SSR's look pretty sweet, but at other angles it makes the car look fat.

I'm currently running with the stock suspension and it clears to the full turn radius. I tried to feel around the back of the tire to the strut, but there isn't alot of clearance left (but more than enough if you stay with the current stock susupension). I'll be trying H&R coilovers and hopefully they will not cause any clearance problems.

The wheel lip (body) to the tire gap actually INCREASED. This is what made me think about lowering the car to close that gap. The stock rims and tires actually covered most of the gap, but after the SSR's it made lowering madatory to close the gap [xx(].

I dragged my feet alittle on the pics, because I was debating for over a month to lower my car and how many inchs I was willing to accept. Aside from other performance mods, I think most of my visual mods will be done by this Saturday.
