2 years later and I'm circling back to this issue because I still haven't solved it. I did try moving the wheels/tires from my 2001 LE to the 2005 GT, but the shaking remains. I'm back to suspecting where the CV axle connects to the intermediate shaft, but unfortunately I can't compare it to the 2001 LE because it is a non turbo and thus doesn't have the intermediate shaft.
The other thing that nobody has addressed it the clicking sounds that the steering is making. I will upload a video and see if anyone has any ideas about this. |

Here's the video I made this morning so you can hear the steering click I'm talking about https://youtu.be/uopr46wW9rg

Check the A-arm rear bushings. It's a $3 part that's a nightmare to replace if you live in the rustbelt. If rusted, the captured nut inside the floor reinforcement likes to break loose and spin. Then you'll have to cut a hole in the floor to get at it.

If by A-Arm, you are referring to the control arms, I have replaced both and bushings already. It was one of the first things I tried to fix the wobble.

Didn't mention it in your video. Trying to find a different kind of problem I grabbed different components while causing the noise. Felt the slack.

2006 pt curiser vert turbo with only 80K miles
but I have rebuilt the front suspension more than 4 times race and street lowering kit (lasted 10 years) ebay homemade coilovers (SHIT) lifted tremax ( took it right out bad bad idea) droped again with tien( waiting to finish) plus repairs inbetween the rebuilds I CANT STAND vibrations in the front end, things i have found, whel hub bearing get destroyed when up pushing on. and in literly 5k are worn out, do not buy cheap bearing EVER. do not press on bearing inner race EVER struts get blown out easy when lowered strut tops are suspect and bearing is a crap design causes click in the steering axel shafts sometimes are not balanced corectly even when new espicily when buying cheap ones my jack shaft wore out 70k and is horible vibration clean wheel bolt mounting surface and rims use anti sieze 3 times i had a noise coing from the wheel bolts once i had inthe rear for 6 months becasue i painted the hub and the rims made indents in the paint to the metal and ended up squeeking on every revolotion even with removing wheel and reinstall,, untill its clean and flat and bare i had a sound. i used wheel spacers with aftermarket rims and one bolt came loose HOLY crap i ripped everythaing apart a few times, finaily walked along side the car while son was driving watching the tire it was wiggeling like 1/4 inch so i went to take off the spacers to check and found one loose and one like hand tight they backed out by them self just to be sure try a road fource balance tires can be balanced but have a hop or depression in the tread they might find it I FEEL YOUR PAIN joe |
