Wheel/rim sizes ?

Ok it’s about that time for some new rims and tires what would the biggest rim I could get 18? 19? 20???? With out any rubbing or grinding [?] also as far as the rear wheel what’s the max width of the tire so it doesn’t stick out of the wheel well but looks a little chunkier in the back. And as far as tire #’s and all that also if any people have any 411 that would be great. Not the greatest with tires sizes so any help could do thanks again in advance!

A lot of are putting 18's up front and 20's in the rear with an offset of between 42 and 45. Tire size is about 225/35's. This gives it that old hotrod look. I'm running this on mine and my tires do not rub even when I lower the car (air suspension). You could put 20's all around if you modify the front strut perch, buy a modified front strut (California Cruisers), or put an air suspension system with cylinders on the front. But you have to watch how hard you turn because it may rub. Have fun choosing.

JUst my 2 cents worth: The larger the diameter and therefore the smaller the aspect ratio the harder the ride if that makes any difference!! Oh yes and also the more damage to your wheels is possible due to the jaring effect of so little rubber between the wheel and the road!!

I just went from the Stock Touring rims/tires, 16" to the stock rims/tires from a GT and had a noticeable change in ride quality, much more harsh.

I have yet to try any twisty roads, but will do that shortly.

I realize that looks and ride quality to not go hand in hand,

I've had good success with 19x8 wheels with a 35 offset in front and 40 offset in rear on 225/35ZR19 tires without any rubbing. I haven't had any wheel damage on rough Michigan roads but I only use this wheel set for summer driving. The ride is rough but has excellent handling.
