Default Wire wheels

Where can I find wire wheels for my '04 Touring Edition with the Turbo engin. I am new to the PT's and I do not understand why so many wheels will not work with the PT's with Turbos in them.

Thanks in advance for any help I may recieve.

I'm assuming your touring turbo edition has the 4 disc brake option, the calipers will require a large clearance roughly a 39mm to 35mm offset (your selection becomes more limited with those offsets).

If your looking for wire wheels, BBS from tirerack.com are the closes I can think of and they are VERY expensive rims. You can check America's Discount Tires if there is other brands you like (those tend to be less performance oriented, but cheaper and might have some wire wheels your looking for).

In addition, you might want to use the GT Cruiser as your selection for wheels, that's IF you have the 4 wheel disc option.

I only have the disk on the front wheels. Could I use wheel spacers instead of getting rims with offset?[:I]

It's my understanding that the turbo lite has the same disc brakes as the non turbo PT. It is the GT that has the upgraded larger brakes. You can always have the dealer check the part #'s for the non turbo and turbo lite and see if they are the same.

All the turbos have the same front disk brakes.

The turbo lites do not have the same upgraded front disc brakes as the GT. The GT calipers are larger and that is why you have to use a rim with a 39mm offset.

Mean Green, I stand corrected. My factory manual illustrates some differences, that don't translate on the real brake. The steel rule tells the truth. Darrell
