Default Vogtland and Koni Installed

I just got the Koni sports and Vogtland springs installed the other day on my '03 GT. It was pretty straitforward, except for the modifications to the front struts to accept the Koni inserts. That part wasn't too hard, but it was a bit of a hassle.

By my measurements, the drop is about 1-1/4" front, 1-1/2" rear. There's just a bit of rake left, but not nearly as much as stock. Handling is much improved, and the ride isn't much stiffer than stock. The car is now very stable and sure-footed at high speeds. The best thing is that it's not *too* low, and the spring rates are high enough to keep the suspension from bottoming out. I can still carry 4 people without worrying about bottoming out, and the ride is just as good with a full load as empty.

It should have been like this from the factory....

Thought about a sway bar update? I am going with a 19MM MOPAR rear bar with a MOPAR 24MM (stock) front bar.

I thought about it, but don't think it needs bigger anti roll bars. It handles great with just the spring/shock install and there's not much roll at all.

Now, if it just wouldn't drag going into my driveway......

Maybe I should think about new shocks and Vogtland springs. I am trying to avoid stiffening an already (IMHO) too stiff ride. I dont mind firm and controlled but when I go across a cross gutter on my block I get severe side to side motion at any speed over 10 mph! No such motion with my 87 Mustang GT with lowering springs!![:0]

The sway bars make a WAY big difference IMO. The springs are a very good upgrade, but teamed up with sway bars is the way to go! [?]
