Default Put ....well removed exhaust from the gt

Today I got my muffler chopped off, removed my spare tire, and had some duals run out the center of my GT yee-haw. Big noticeable difference in power, awesome sound. Picture soon.

PTcrizing42,

Have you noticed a faster engine rev after this mod?
Do you have a boost gauge? If you do, Is the turbo spoolong faster?
My turbo friends tell me that these are some of the benefits of removing the muffler.

Ian

I'm not an expert on engines by any means but I do know alittle bit. I can tell that the engine deffinitely revs up a lot faster, and the turbo spool that I can hear seems to "whoosh" up quicker. The car deffinitely shoots from 0-60 a lot faster. I will let everyone know what it runs at the track next week.

the turbo will definitely be spooling faster because by reoving the muffler it allows total free flow of exhuast vapours, except for the cat and rez. This allows faster flow for the vapours, therefore running them faster through the intake turbine on the turbo housing. Hence cutting down the time it takes for the output turbine to spool up and produce boost. You should also take off the rez and run a high flow aftermatket cat with a 3" mandrel bent turbo back. Then you only have to wait for a nice down pipe to hit the market and you exhuast will be awesome<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>
