Default What tire came on your GT?

I have heard different reports from Turbo owners on what tires came on their car. Some people said they got GYear LS and others have said GYear AS. Just want to know if Chrylser put other tires on the stock GT. As you have read, my AS's wore out at 33,000 which from what I heard is about the max for that tire. So far I like the LS's, handle good in the snow. I know not too many people are fans of Goodyear, willing to give them a second chance before I go import. [8)]

I have the RS-A and they were 2 yrs. old in October and I'll probably replace them this coming spring. Right now they have just under 25K miles. No problems with them. I have been in Florida for 15 yrs now and I really never get more then 3 yrs out of a tire, no matter what brand or how expensive they may be. I usually try to get the least expensive good tire, if that makes since. I'll most likely replace the battery at the same time. Same deal, don't get much more then 3 yrs. worth. One thing that has always struck me as strange is my wife and her cars. She has a 1999 and just replaced the tires but the battery is still strong as an ox. Her car before that even went longer. Me, every 2 - 2 1/2 years. Go figure[:I]

I asume we're talking GT's with 17" wheels here? My '04 came with Goodyear Eagle RS-A 205/50-17. I've got high mileage due to my work and at 27,000 they're ready to replace in front. I replaced the rears some time back, due to road hazard incidents, with RS-A to match. I put a slighty larger tires in the rear, 215/50-17. They are a bit taller but don't cause any ABS problems. I wanted to fill the wheel well more and add a little more rubber at the side to protect from curb rash and stay conservative. (The 205/50 are right at the same width as the chrome wheels.) Plus they look less like economy car tires. Don't put these on the front because of speedo issues.
I would review these as plain vanilla in looks and performance with lots of road rumble noise. I'm going with something else next, probably 215/45 all around. My problem now is the rears are in good shape, the fronts are worn out.[:I]

My '04 Gt has RS-A's as well. I haven't replaced them, yet, since I have about 7K miles on them. They seem to handle well in the snow we (Chicago area) had so far.

ah yes RS-A's. stock on the Gts and our G35. Absolutely horrible tire in the wet and snow. Going to replace with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Will let you know how they work out.

Yep, me too, Goodyear Eagle RS-A. I've got 23.000 on them. A road hazard on the rear and that's it. They are fine tires, but I have driven the Yokohama ES 100 on my sons 2000 Civic si. Very sticky and good ride too. His are 205-40-17. But when the time comes to replace mine I'll do some research and then decide. I'll keep the 205-50-17 size on my GT though.

Eagle RS-A's on the GT. Eagle LS's were on the NA PT's. At least, that's what came on ours. (We have 3 PT's). I agree, the RS-A are horrid in snow and rain. The only problem is that I still have tread on mine, and I have another set sitting in my stall at work. I would really like something else but the extra tires I have cannot justify buying and having a third set of tires.

I have never seen anything but Goodyerar RSA's on any 2003, 2004 or 2005 GT froim the factory and all in size 205X50X17 and all on 6" wheels. The wheel width make it very difficult to upgrade the size very much. The only bigger tires I have seen that will fit those wheels are 215X50 (25.5" Dia)and 225X50 (25.9" Dia). Wider higher aspect ratio tires will fit (225X55 27.1" Dia) and the same widith in a 45 series tire will fit also (205X45 24.3" Dia)). Some of these sizes may be very hard to find in a performance tire depending on manufacturer. BTW tire Dia differ with both tire manufacturer and tire style. Our Goodyear RSA in size 205X50X17 has a diameter of 25.4" and a revolution per mile of approx 822.
