Default eibach antiroll bars

Three months ago I had installed the Eibach antiroll bars on my 03 gt. Two weeks ago I heard a strang sound in the right rear of the gt and pulled over to check it out. The right rear dog-bone had sheared off at the weld! I immediately called the Eibach Rep in Cal. and reported it to a tech service agent named Brian. Without the warrenty card in hand I explained what had happened and ask to buy another one, Without hesitation Brian said he would send one right out at no charge if I would return the bad one. It arrived yesterday....Brian is a "What-a-Guy" and Eibach is a rare company to do business with!!

Thats great. Good of you to mention such a fine company. Also good nothing serious happen. Its a little of a hassle to do the install work over again but alls well that ends well.

So obviously they had the parts in stock, which means their 6 month back order must now be resolved!! I simply could not get these parts when I purchased my anti-sways, which sat in a box in my garage for almost 2 months before I sent them back.

Eibach buys these parts (the dogbones and rear install kit - I don't for certain about the bars themselves) from a supplier who either couldn't or wouldn't keep up with demand. I wonder if your problem indicates another manufacturing issue with them, or just an anomoly.

Either way, it's always nice to hear about a company who stands behind their product.

Make sure you tighten all the hardware with the suspension loaded, weight of the vehicle on the suspension not with the suspension in droop. Probably not what caused the breakage, just a reminder.

LOL!! Yep, sure was. But keep in mind that I ultimately spent a heck of a lot more money in order to get the kind of handling I want.....I bought a Miata!

I've had my 05, auto, lite turbo, for about three months & love it. I would, however, like to do something about the body lean when going around the bends. Not all that interested in lowering the machine.

Can anyone tell me if installation of the Eibach bars alone would make a significant difference?

Also still waiting word on Stage 1 for the 05s - Mopar's site still says "coming soon" - kinda wonder if there's any difference between 04 & 05 models...[:I]

Thanks...

IMHO, the sway bars make a radical difference and no ill effects on ride quality or ground clearance. When I first test drove the 2004's my wife thought we were going to roll over when I made a fast u-turn. I felt the body roll as well.

After installing the Eibach Sways, the car is much improved. So much that I found myself bracing my knees against the console and door for for support.

It took me a couple of hours to do the install, and I used Rhino Ramps (available at Walmart). You could time the install when you do an oil change so you will be under the car already.

Their is one tricky part of the install, the rear clamshell brackets, but the Eibach install kit comes with 'keeper nuts' (nuts attached to a small metal clamp) that holds the nuts in place while you tighten them down. I did need some leverage to get those bolts started, but that was it. You will also want a torque wrench, and if needed I can post the torque values of the various nuts/bolts, as the Eibach instructions did not list them.

Other than the poor instructions, I am very happy with my Eibachs. A lot has been posted on sways, seems that you will get an excellent benefit from any of the top names, Eibach, Progress, etc, so pick the best deal, or the color you like and go for it,

Also, a quick search on the topic will turn up many tips for install,

Mike

A tower strut bar gets rid of some of the lean, but for more Spirited driving, the eibachs really do the job, as nozzano has outlined!

Thanks - the Eibachs & maybe a tower strut bar are on my short list. May be a little while since the good wife keeps her own list...
