Chrome delamination on 03 DC

Began to notice a whine in the trans between 30 and 40 MPH under normal acceleration. Have Stage I in a box ready to install so figured I better get the tranny checked first. DCX 5-star diagnosed (without tearing it down) as planetary gear and has ordered part(s).

Anybody else experienced this problem?

THEN......found chrome coming off one of the wheels on my 03 Dreamcruiser. DCX also ordered a replacement. All of this under warranty, but chrome pealing off? Come on!! I wash this car by hand so I know it has not been exposed to harsh cleners.......

I can see how the chrome would peel off - it ends just inside the wheel so there is a lip/edge. I have the same setup -

Pitting and/or pealing chrome has been a problem [B)] with some of the 03/04 GT wheels. [V]

Are your wheels "chromed aluminum" or chrome "Clad" wheels? the clad wheels are a hub cap bonded to an aluminum wheel that there has been a few problems with peeling and bonding separating from the wheel.also you have to be careful cleaning them because the hubcap does scratch.
