Unless you have a shop with a lift and can weigh the corners and have a in depth knowledge of setting up a coil over suspension, preloads, etc, you would be better off just getting a good set of springs. While you can, in theory, just throw a set a coilovers on the car, you will probably not improve handling unless you have a suspension guru set it up properly for you. A good set of springs and shocks/struts and sway bars is more than sufficient for most street applications. YOu didn't say if you were planning on road racing or what. Coil overs are cool but way expensive and even more expensive to have a race shop set up for you so the car is balanced. This is a process that involves intial weigh and setting, taking it out on the track for testing, bringing it back for more adjustments in response to your track test and doing it again, and again, and again if needed...

agreed.
just pop in the Tokico struts and shocks, eibach sway bars, you dont have to change the springs if you dont want it lower.

I agree with Rally. Have not tried Tokicos, but Konis are definitely great. Just installig good dampers will be a huge improvement. Also, the Mopar stage 1 springs work really well. They provide a very mild drop and significantly increased spring rates for better handling, although the ride is still pretty good. They are what the GT should have had to start with. IMHO, all the other lowering springs are for looks only, except the coil overs.

I have a set of Stage 2 Mopar coilovers. They will be going on the car as soon as I stop working weekends... I'll post my results after the install.

They look cool!!!

Sorry I haven't responded in awhile to this. Still haven't installed them yet. between the snow, salt, & non-heated garage... besides working most weekends...
Yes I am going to install them myself. I e-mailed a DC engineer he said not to worry about setup on stage 2's. they should be fine if I don't screw with them.

I know some tunner shops that i can go to if things don't feel right.

hey dark270

i have the stage 2 coilover from mopar had them in for about 5months.

this set up is pre set for height and will lower your ride 1 3/4 in front & 2inch in back.

the ride is very stiff but with a 215 50 17 tire is dose help a little. but the increase in handling is what i was after. plus the look and also that everthing is polished stainless. it looks good under the GT too.

if you plan to get a set. email tommy he had them for $1150 plus shipping.

if you go to my link page you can see the set installed. BUD
