Default Bridgestone Potenza RE750

I put Potenza RE750's on the '03 GT about 1000 miles back and have been very happy with the results.

I replaced the Goodyears at 27000 miles primarily because of decreased performance in wet conditions (as opposed to lack of tread depth). They just didn't seem to 'stick' as well. Wheel spin & chirps at launch were getting more common.

The Bridgestones have been great! Traction breaks at launch are much less frequent and the hold in corners is tremendous - noticably better than the Goodyears when they were new. That said, don't even think about using these guys in any significant snow (they are listed as summer tires). They handle icy spots OK, but in greasy snow they just don't have enough bite. (The one day I tried them in snow, I turned back after a couple of miles & switched to the truck until the road conditions were better)

I bought the RE750's at Costco, which apparently only has them available on an intermittant basis. (my first purchase attempt via their website ended up being canceled when their shipper ran out of stock...) It took another 3 weeks before the local store was able to get a set of 4. Between a sale coupon & free mounting and balancing (as compensation for some order processing snafu's), I got the set for $100 off the list Costco price (total with tax was roughly $500 for the set).

What size tire did you wind up with? I looked into Costco and Bridgestone but could not fine a tire with the correct load rating for a size tire my stock 6" wide wheels would work with. I bought Bridgestone tires for both my Mom and Daughter and they both loved them. Potenza 950's worked great on my Moms Audi A4 and Daughters Neon Sport. Daughters tires lasted about 45,000 miles and my Mom still has hers after about 10,000 miles.

They are 205/50R17 89W. The originals were (I believe) 93H. I've seen vendor recommendations with load ranges varying from 88 to 93.

The RE750's were only on the Costco website for a fairly small window of time. Subsequent followup & reorder was by the tire guy at the store talking directly with the distribution folks.
