Default Rear Sway Bar Measurements

Measured the ride height from ground in garage to bottom of the fender lip and the clearance from the front chin plastic piece to the ground. Rears went from 28 1/4" to 28.0". Fronts from, 27 1/2" to 27 1/4". Chin clearance stayed at 5" although I am starting to loose the chin piece. Two things could be going on the springs saged a little over time or the rear sway bar hunkered the car down some. Since I didn't notice it till the sway bar was installed I am guessing that is what did it. It is amazing that it effected the front too! Maybe it took out some slop from both front and rear suspension settings! It does appear from measurements and from my eyes that the car is slightly lowered in back but fronts look the same.

The sway bar will have on effect on ride height front or rear. The only time it comes into play is when there are twisting forces applied to it that it resists. Springs on the other hand, at least some springs, do have a tendency to settle a bit over time.

If you have a lot of hard miles on your PT and the springs are OEM, then it is just the springs sagging a little. The stock units on most cars driven hard sag over the miles and get real bouncey. If you've got good aftermarket springs...[:I] The rear sway does make a hugh difference, I cannot for the life of me figure out why DC took it away other than $$. I think that could account for some of the "no sales" on PT's. I did mine 3 months after I got the car due to the forums and how everyone raved about them. Thanks guys and gals.
