Don, the pads have to be a blend because all ceramic pads would be bad![:0] They would not wear down, creating no dust, but would have no bite either! In a blend, they are fantastic; great bite and low dust, although they still aren't the best performance pads. But they are a great compromise between crappy OEM pads and ultra dusting performance pads! [?]
????? I had Raybestos Ceramics on my '02 and loved them. NAPA has them as top line. I believe they are 100% ceramic (Fronts). Next down was a "blend" followed by "semi-metallic". Why would rears be different? [:I]

Don, all Ceramic pads use the same components as every pads do, they just have ceramic fibers to hold everything together. A 100% Ceramic pad WILL NOT have any bite whatsoever. No manufactor makes 100% Ceramic pads, as that would provide no stopping power at all. BUT when blended together with the regular pad components, they provide excellent wear, ultra low dusting and virtually no brake fade due to heat. If that's what NAPA told you, they are full of it. Their top ceramic pads may have a higher blend, but are in no way possible pure ceramic. Plus, there are many brake pads that provide much better bite then ceramics, but then again they dust horribly, wear down the rotors much quicker and are noisy as hell! [:0]

I tried it and they said I had to pay for shipping and the pads and California sales tax. Way not free!
I believe he meant the call (800) was free.

I went to Pep Boys and got Raybestos Ceramics up front (Quiet Stop $82) Ceramic blend (Pro Stop $40) for the rears. I put on new rotors (drilled and slotted)(Ebay $40 ea) SS hoses front and back ($120)from Russel (Eldelbrock) and flushed the system and put back new DOT3 fluid. Brakes work great now and pedal effort is up a little bit but modulation is much better than stock. Stops on a dime and gives back about 8 cents change. Have not done any Moutain driving so not sure about fade but the initial two stops are great and with my new tires I have a hard time getting the anti locks activated unless I use a sandy street.

Russell makes them and now they are part of Edelbrock and street legal and easy to install. Got mine at ecutuning for about $125 total! Most places that sell Edelbrock should now carry them. PN 694010. Lines for all four wheels!![8)]

If you are getting ceramic pads for 24.99 they are not 100 percent ceramic...they are a blend...
