I have the Eibach Pro kit and Tokico HP shcocks/struts. Do both. The ride is much better with the Tokico's which I installed later on. You can get away with just the springs, but if you're trying to minimize the ride harshness add the shocks/struts when you do the springs.

The Eibachs eliminate a bit of the rake, and most of the wheel well space, but not all of either. Of course it may settle more over time. I think it is perfect. Here's a link to before and after pics (not mine): http://www.mooresmopars.com/GT-Cruis...ch-prokit.html

If I were just trying to improve handling I would start with sway bars. That is where the most improvement can be made, and it doesn't negatively affect ride much if at all. I lowered the car for looks.

I lowered mine 4 years ago before Eibach called their kit "Eibach Pro Kit". Don't know if it's the same as mine or not. There is still a difference from front to back (1/2 inch) but barely noticable. I have a 1" gap between the wheel and wheel well lip on both front and back.
