I wish to replace the rotors on my 05 vert. the current ones show rust. and brake dust. I have read about the high quality rotos and ceramic pads from NAPA that have been previoiusly mentioned. There are quite a few rotors(drilled and slotted) on ebay and some with kevlar pads and zinc coatings. 1.)Are these any good? Or should I go with the NAPA ones? Also, Mopar has a drum conversion kit for the rears but it is very expensive-$1300-1400. 2.)Are there any alternatives? Also read about upgrading the brake lines to stainless-3.)Is this also a NAPA purchase? FYI-I am doing this mostly for looks but if there are braking improvements then its a plus. Almost forgot 4.)If the rotors are replaced do the calipers remain stock? I want them either chrome or body color(purple)?

You covered a lot there...
I have never ever seen rotors that do not rust. The zince coating will get scraped off by the pads. Put Raybestos ceramic pads (PartsAmerica.Com, RockAuto.Com, or NAPA) in and dust will go to zero and braking will be better. You can put aluminum discs behind the wheels of the rears, and hide the drums. Drums and calipers can be painted - many have done it - suggest a high-temp paint and good prepping (clean). Stainless brake lines keep all hydraulic pressure going to caliper, not balooning brake lines. I doubt you'd notice a difference. The above is MY OPINION.

I have not changed out my brakes yet but with over 40,000 miles I will very soon. I bought new SS brake lines (Edelbrock), new slotted and holed (Few) (Race Concepts from eBay) disks front and back, PepBoys bought front and rear pads. Fronts ceramic and rears ceramic blend. See what that does for braking but to be honest I do like my anti lock brakes now.

I agree with the others. A couple of thoughts; this will be mostly for looks, since the rear brakes do a small percentage of the braking. The pads will make the most difference in brake performance.
Most here have agreed that the NAPA parts are great. I'd go with a proven part when it comes to stopping, not the best price. One of the guys did a used rear axle swap to get the rear discs, do a search. I'm hoping to do some of this in the future, and plan on gathering everything possible that I want painted (Dark Plum) to ensure color matching. Do you want the mirrors, any interior parts, engine parts, strut or sway bars color-matched? Plan ahead, and good luck.

purple04, I am mainly going for looks-so it seems that I will get the NAPA (raybestos) pads for sure. Was considering the slotted/drilled rotors in black with the calipers deep plum. I also checked out Haynes website and they have a very interesting drum replacement kit. Check it out! I almost bought it but decided on the mopar stage 2 coil over kit instead. Still wondering about the kevlar stuff though-used to have it in our bullet proof vests.
