They hold the hood up instead of using the prop rod at the back which people have been known to forget while closing. Check out his website.

Thanks Blane. I still find myself reaching for the prop rod when I close the hood but I will get over it! These things are a very nice addition, especially if you like tinkering under the hood

Bought a set of color matched Hood Struts from Blane this weekend for 'Blue Moon' (now that we have a Fiberglass Hood) and they are GREAT!! Just want to say thanks to Blane and his lovely Wife for being so kind for letting me pick them up on Sunday and they went on in minutes like Blane said they would and work great on the Glass Hood. Again thanks you two and now anyone that has a Fiberglass Hood I can attest that they work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
